No-Sew Kindness Pockets

by Laura Kelly

February is National Kindness Month. I really believe that every month should have a focus on being kind to others. These no-sew kindness pockets are a darling little way to make a big difference. They are easy to make so create a great projects for kids in classrooms, Girl Scout troops and make-and-takes at parties and events.

Skill Level: Basic
Time: 45 minutes

You will need the following supplies:
• Premium Felt 9 X 12 (2 pieces of same color per pocket)
• Classicfelt 9 x 12 (assorted colors for die-cut decorations on pockets)
• Beacon Fabri-Tac Glue
• Plastic Snaps
• Scissors
• 9 inch circle template
Kindness Notes (FREE Download)

Trace a nine-inch circle onto the premium felt. You can use a bowl or a compass.

1. Cut out two of these in the same color. Then cut one of them in half.

2. Use a solid line of Fabri-Tac around the half circle edge, avoiding the straight part which will become the pocket opening. Let it dry.

3. Put plastic snaps on the pocket to create a closure. The top one should be about ½ inch from the edge of the full circle. The one on the pocket should be about one inch from the edge. Snap the pocket closed.

4. Use Fabri-Tac to attach felt decorations to the front of the pocket, covering the snap. Let glue dry.

5. Open the pocket and tuck kindness notes or treats inside then give them away. You can download free kindness notes to use in your pockets.

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® Classicfelt; Kunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Cheers to Spreading Kindness!
